"It is easy to see how the severe pattern imposed by a circular image of this kind compensates ...namely through a construction of a central point to which everything is related, or by concentric arrangement of the disordered multiplicity and of contradictory and irreconcilable elements. This is evidently an attempt at self-healing on the part of Nature, which does not spring from conscious reflection but from an instinctive impulse." (Carl Jung, Archetypes of the Collective Unconscious).

During this time, my life felt like it was operating in a way that felt fragmented, and I sought to center myself through the practice of art making. For this exhibition, I created a series of mandalas. I took my own photographs and then worked with them digitally. I cropped and flipped them over and over again to achieve a compelling pattern but also to create unique figures and networks, incomplete bodies that through tension hold each other together.
